All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe Registered engineers only, as required by the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.

3. Quotes and Estimates
All quotes provided by Halifax Boiler Doctor are subject to the following conditions:
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
Quotes are based on the information available at the time. If additional issues are discovered during the work, we will inform you before proceeding and agree on any additional costs.
Written quotes take precedence over verbal estimates. Verbal estimates are given in good faith but are not binding.
Parts and materials quoted are subject to availability. If a specified part is unavailable, we will advise you of suitable alternatives.
Quotes do not include any consequential costs arising from access requirements, such as scaffolding or specialist equipment, unless explicitly stated.

4. Booking and Appointments
When you book an appointment with us:
We will confirm your appointment by telephone, email, or text message.
Appointment times are given as estimates. While we aim to arrive at the agreed time, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to the nature of emergency and ongoing works.
If we need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, we will give you as much notice as possible.
If you need to cancel, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) or failure to be present at the property may result in a call-out charge.

5. Payment Terms
Our payment terms are as follows:
Payment is due upon completion of works unless a prior written payment arrangement has been agreed.
We accept payment by bank transfer, card, or cash.
For larger installations or projects, we may require a deposit of up to 50% before work commences. This will be confirmed in writing.
Invoices not paid within 14 days of the due date may incur a late payment charge in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
If payment is not received, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel further works and, where appropriate, to recover outstanding amounts through a debt recovery process.
Any queries relating to invoices must be raised within 7 days of receipt.

6. Your Responsibilities
To enable us to carry out work safely and effectively, you agree to:
Provide safe and reasonable access to the property, appliances, and relevant pipework.
Ensure the property is safe for our engineers to work in.
Advise us of any known hazards, including asbestos, structural concerns, or prior gas incidents.
Ensure any relevant pets are secured away from the work area.
Provide accurate information about any previous work carried out on the appliances or system.
Ensure an adult (aged 18 or over) is present at the property throughout the work.

7. Our Liability
Halifax Boiler Doctor carries public liability insurance. However, our liability to you is subject to the following limitations:
We are not liable for pre-existing faults, defects, or damage that were present before we commenced work.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, accommodation costs, or business losses.
Our total liability to you in connection with any single service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that service.
We are not responsible for damage caused by access requirements that were reasonably necessary to carry out the work (e.g., minor redecoration following pipe work).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable UK law.

8. Guarantees and Warranties
We stand behind the quality of our workmanship:
Labour is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Parts and components are subject to the manufacturer’s warranty. We will assist you in making a warranty claim where applicable.
Guarantees are void if the appliance or system has been tampered with, incorrectly serviced, or damaged by a third party following our works.
Guarantees do not cover fair wear and tear or damage caused by limescale, corrosion, or system contamination where these were pre-existing conditions.

9. Gas Safety Certificates
Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) are issued following an inspection of the gas appliances at the property. Please note:
A certificate confirms the safety of the appliances inspected on the date of the inspection only. It does not constitute a guarantee of future performance.
If we identify an unsafe appliance during an inspection, we are legally required to take appropriate action, which may include disconnecting the appliance. This is a legal requirement under Gas Safety Regulations and is not subject to negotiation.
Landlords are legally required to obtain a Gas Safety Certificate annually under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. It is the landlord’s responsibility to ensure compliance.
